The “Innovation in Prosthetics-Orthotics Symposium” organized by the Turkish Prosthetics-Orthotics Science Association was held between 9-10 December 2022 at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Milli İrade Campus Conference Hall. At the opening of the symposium, Prof. Dr. Fatih Erbahçeci gave information about the scope of the Turkish Prosthetics-Orthotics Science Association and the purpose of the symposium. During his speech, Prof. Dr. Fatih Erbahçeci thanked those who contributed to the organization of the symposium. The opening conference of the symposium was held enthusiastically by interviewing the players and coaches of the Amputee National Football Team.
The symposium, which was held with more than 800 participants, brought together researchers and clinicians, company representatives, and students who took an active role in the field. The symposium follow-up rates and feedback of the participants, who had the opportunity to observe the current practice examples in the booth areas, were positive. During the symposium, in accordance with the theme of innovation; Panels and conferences were presented on many topics such as field applications, research planning, product development, and project design. In addition, workshops including current practices were organized, and scientific research papers were included. The best three papers presented at the symposium were awarded degree certificates.
At the symposium, it was announced that the next scientific activity would take place in October 2023 with an international character. The symposium ended after a two-day intensive program.
We believe that the Innovation in Prosthetics-Orthotics Symposium brings the rehabilitation team working in the field of prosthetics-orthotics together, strengthens scientific sharing and social cooperation, develops cooperation between professionals and companies working in the field, and is beneficial in terms of communication and information exchange.
